Boomers Protect
Current Status: Under attack.
Wealthy oligarchs (controlling government) choose U.S. laws to only their benefit, deregulating financial institutions, eliminating environmental and educational public protections, and privatizing for profit:
e. g. taking over immigration internment of children, privatized prisons, federal lands, and schools. Foreign governments cyber-hacked this corrupt system in 2016 to install Trump, using Cambridge Analytica mind-control and election propaganda…, slander, media dis-information, and autocratic control.
Together, we can shake off these attacks and restore our freedoms, our rights, and our country. Over 200 years ago, our colonies revolted and freed ourselves from King George. Now we need all-hands-on deck (>327 Million citizens) to resist fascist attacks and mobilize for cyberbattles to come.
Finances permitting, boomers could continue to work, wait to take their Social Security benefits until they reach age 70. By postponing benefits, they can receive 132% of their original monthly stipend.22 This, combined with the increased income and savings from continuing to work will ease retirement.
About 26% of boomers over 65 have not drawn up wills that stipulate how their assets should be distributed in the event of their own deaths, leaving the door open for a host of potential legal and financial problems.26
Older boomers are still in their 70s. That's the time to make decisions about healthcare and also about who should be in charge of their life and finances, should they be unable to make responsible decisions due to illness or incapacity. Boomers shouldn't leave those decisions to others; they should make them themselves.
Boomers must be alert to continuing personal financial losses. Traditional corporate pensions have been largely phased out by bankruptcy due to immoral overcharging by mega asset managers who do not take fiduciary responsibility (i. e. they refuse to take action in the interests of the pension assets, as opposed to self-engorging). Asset managers charge ~ 2-4% for services and another ~20% for “largely asset-manager shareholders” (including huge personal salaries, $1M-4M gifts to employees, despite investments earning only ~1 – 4%. They claim that success of 401(k) pension plans, IRAs, and other investment vehicles depends on the individual’s choice of funds; but success depends on how much pension principal the asset managers take. This is the “privatization” of retirement plans. Large organizations can bargain for a good rate of interest, e. g. Social Security and pensions. For individuals (without bulk clout), IRA interest rates often dip to -5% to -23%/yr, (losses) depleting individual retirement accounts and bringing credibility of financial agencies to zero. Asset managers should restrict everyone’s returns to the few percent amount earned, rather than taking huge profits out of pension funds; 20-30% per year for themselves.
Many Boomers will be called upon by family and others to provide guidance and support in these times of catastrophe. The Nation needs you now. Use your time and influence to Get Out the VOTE for Democrats who will restore faith in government and bolster laws that protect you, children, grandchildren, and us all.
Your assets are being plundered by profit-seeking fascists. Your time is well-spent volunteering to do everything imaginable to convince others of all ages to resist and oppose the fascist power plays. Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Zs are working long hours just to get by. They can't do the phone calls to constituents and Congress, on-line & email boycotts, demands that AARP oppose fascism, demands that monopolies stand down or face boycotts from America (groceries, pharmacies, pension managers, financial asset managers, ...). Only Boomers have the time to spend doing this work. Send detailed information about financial fraud (with references) to your contacts, SEC, DOJ Antitrust Div., CFPB, Congress, and all media. Reveal the illegal theft of pension funds to all. Make it known. Demand that all generations ignore the fascist propaganda and Vote for Democracy to save America from the planned Project 2025 dictatorship.
